Rumors have been circling about when the new season for Shokugeki no Souma would begin after being delayed thanks to COVID-19 complications and recent announcements that the series would return in May.
The official Twitter account for the series tweeted on May 12th that the series would return to air in July of this year.
Note that the english announcement mentions July, but the Japanese portion goes further into depth mentioning the broadcast to take place in or after July.【Important Announcement】

Due to the effect of the spread of COVID-19, further broadcast of the fifth plate will be postponed till July 2020.
