Honey∞Parade Games' Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal had 2 new videos streamed on Thursday by Marvelous, showcasing the new prologue animations that give some insight into the game's story prologue.
Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal is a PlayStation 4 remake of 2012's Senran Kagura Burst for the Nintendo 3DS.
The original Senran Kagura Burst was only released digitally on 3DS here in the west which is speculated to be due to the series' ecchi and often NSFW sights, and also because it might have been the first foray into the west for Senran Kagura and games like it are sometimes awkwardly recieved in the US.
The first video shows the prologue for Hanzō National Academy, check it out:
The second video shows the prologue for the Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy:
Coming out February 22 in Japan, Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal will renew many of the aesthetics and play-style of the first game which featured side-scrolling battle mechanics and beat-em-up stage by stage gameplay, this time being full 3D.
Also new this time, Yumi and Miyabi will be free DLC characters with their own side-stories as well.
The original's story will be returning with added elements.
The Japanese collector's edition looks very nice, dubbed the NyūNyū DX Pack, it comes with a load of goodies seen below.
There is presently no western release date at the time of this posting, but plans are in the works.
