Brian K. Vaughan was just announced as executive producer for the Hollywood adaptation of Mobile Suit Gundam, with the film being co-produced by Sunrise and Legendary Entertainment. Vaughan has been reported to have signed a 3-year contract with Legendary that includes orginal movies and tv shows, as well as his own properties and adaptations of them.

Vaughan is known for Y: The Last Man and Ex Machina, as well as working as a showrunner for Stephen King's Under the Dome.
He's also written episodes of Lost, and was an executive consultant on the show Runaways which aired on Hulu.
Cale Boyter who was a producer for Pacific Rim: Uprising and the Detective Pikachu movie will be overseeing the project for the live-action Gundam adaptation, which will mark the first-ever live-action adaptation in Sunrise's entire Gundam franchise.
Sounds like the movie could be in good hands. Now lets hope Hollywood doesn't screw it up.
