At PAX East 2024, Naoki Yoshida, also known as 'Yoshi-P,' announced the release date for Final Fantasy 14's expansion, Dawntrail, set for Tuesday, July 2, with early access starting on Friday, June 28.
This timing was adjusted to accommodate players' interest in Elden Ring DLC, giving them a week before diving into Dawntrail. Pre-orders, starting March 26, offer exclusive in-game items, including a Wind-up Zidane minion and Azeyma’s earrings.
These earrings, like the Menphina earrings from Endwalker, scale with stats and grant experience boosts up to level 90. The collector's edition includes an Ark mount, Wind-up Garnet minion, and a Chocobo Brush for the new Pictomancer job.
Additionally, a Final Fantasy 16 crossover event will run from April 2 to May 8 in FF14. Yoshida discussed plans for Dawntrail, emphasizing refined multiplayer gameplay, more large-scale duties, and increased rewards. He aims to provide a more fulfilling gaming experience by introducing variety rather than simply raising difficulty.
Yoshida expressed gratitude to the players, pledging to continue supporting the game for years to come. Preparing for Dawntrail, players can learn about the new job, FF14 Viper, and the new playable race, FF14 female Hrothgar, as well as optimize their FF14 Island Sanctuary.
