I am happy to see this news, as the Haruhi series is my all time favorite.
The new volume of the "Haruhi Suzumiya" light novel series, titled "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekijō" (The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya), will be released on November 29, marking the first new volume in four years. A worldwide simultaneous release is planned, though it's unclear if it will be available in languages other than Japanese. The volume includes two previously published short stories from Kadokawa’s "The Sneaker" magazine and a new sequel to these stories.
The "Haruhi Suzumiya" series, written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito, originally ran from 2003 to 2011 with 11 novels. It has sold over 20 million copies as of 2017 and has inspired multiple adaptations, including anime series, a film, and several manga spinoffs. The anime, animated by Kyoto Animation, first aired in 2006 and was followed by additional episodes and a film, "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya", in 2010.
