The inaugural Music Awards Japan, hosted by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), will take place on May 21–22 at Kyoto’s ROHM Theater. The event will honor top achievements in music with six major categories, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year, alongside over 60 additional awards recognizing areas like Vocaloid culture, anime, and game soundtracks.
Nominees will be selected using data-driven metrics from sources like Billboard Japan and Oricon, with final winners chosen by over 5,000 industry professionals. Organized by a coalition of five Japanese music bodies, the ceremony will air on Japanese TV and stream worldwide on YouTube.
