Saku Sakamoto initiates production on a new short anime film titled 'Calabi-Yau no Sukima.'

Saku Sakamoto, known for 'The Feast of Amrita' anime film, has commenced production on a new short film called 'Calabi-Yau no Sukima' ('The Gap of Calabi-Yau'), portraying the fearsome aspects of a "six-dimensional world." 

Release details and cast are yet to be announced. Similar to his prior works, Sakamoto will hold multiple roles in this production, except for dubbing and sound effects. Notably, his previous film, 'Aragne: Sign of Vermilion,' debuted at the Fantasia Festival in 2018 after successful crowdfunding campaigns in Japan and Kickstarter for an English translation. 'The Feast of Amrita,' a prequel spinoff to 'Aragne: Sign of Vermilion,' premiered in Japan in May 2023, following a delay due to COVID-19. 

Sakamoto, a freelance anime creator since 2002, has an extensive background, including directing NHK's 'Minna no Uta' and contributing to projects like 'Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence' and a tourism anime for Matsuyama City in 2014.
