Otakon 2024 organizers announced several notable guests for the event. Studio Trigger president Masahiko Otsuka, along with animators Aoi Abe and Sae Ōtani, will attend. Additionally, Frontier Works producer Norihiro Kurosawa, anime director Takahide Ogata, light novel author Kurokata, and voice actor Kentarō Itō will discuss the anime "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic" at the event.
Masahiko Otsuka, known for his work on Studio Ghibli's "Pom Poko" and co-directing "Gurren Lagann" at Studio Gainax, co-founded Studio Trigger and has contributed to works like "Kill la Kill" and "Promare."
Aoi Abe and Sae Ōtani have been instrumental in anime such as "Delicious in Dungeon," "Little Witch Academia," and "SSSS.GRIDMAN."
Otakon 2024 will also feature BL manga artist Kyōko Aiba, rock band FLOW, manga artist Hinoki Kino, voice actors Hideo Ishikawa and Uki Satake, director Hiroshi Nagahama, and the staff of Studio Orange, among others. The event is scheduled for August 2-4 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., following last year's event in July 2023.
