Celebration of the Azure Sky
Celebration of the Azure Sky is one of Azure Infinitum's cherished annual traditions, commemorating a special time each summer when many of the defining milestones in our community's history took place. Not to be confused with our Founding Anniversary in November.
Throughout late July and early August, numerous events in our history have helped shape Azure into the community we proudly call home today.
It also honors major development projects that strengthened our community, including Resurgens Caeruleum, our extensive infrastructure overhaul that began in 2020 and concluded on August 1, 2021.
Led by Reika and the Azure Council, this ambitious initiative modernized nearly every aspect of Azure, including our websites, branding, databases, recruitment, event protocols, graphics, resources, social media, podcasts, rank revisions, charter updates, and much more, establishing the foundation that continues to support our community today.
More recently in history, we celebrate the completion of The Ascension Project, announced in January 2024 and officially concluding during the first week of August. Over six months, this initiative revitalized Azure through renewed recruitment, leadership development, revised community systems, improved support programs, organizational refinements, and countless quality-of-life improvements designed to prepare Azure for years to come.
As we look ahead to another exciting Azure Summer Festival this August, Celebration of the Azure Sky serves as the beginning of this special season for our community. It is a day dedicated to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and looking forward to the future we continue building together.
Two "Celebration Tours" take place on July 31st in FINAL FANTASY XIV on MIDGARDSORMR SERVER, w/Voiced Commentary and hosting by Infinitum Master, Reika Fuji-shima (Hikaru Kazushime).
Celebration Tours include raffle giveaways along a tour where we'll be visiting a number of Azure History Sites as Reika/Kazu provides fun facts and memorable stories from our free company's past.
The celebration tours will take place from 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT AND 11:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM PT.

Celebration of the Azure Sky recognizes the defining mid-year moments that have shaped Azure Infinitum throughout its history. While our story spans many years, it is remarkable how many of our greatest achievements, turning points, and milestones occurred during the summer months. Each represents perseverance, growth, unity, and the dedication of countless members who helped build the community we enjoy today.
Among some of these milestones are:
- August 2013 – Somnus Infinitum's transition from FFXI to FFXIV, laying the groundwork for the future reunion that would eventually become Azure Infinitum.
- August-November 2014 – The Liberation of the Crimson Blades, which ultimately led to Azure's founding after Reika and the community chose to forge a new path together, following her inheritance of Crimson Blades and events that followed.
- August 2015 – First Azure Day, the start of our quarterly FC Celebration Days that quickly turned into special event weekends that defined our future special event programs and created many memorable contests and minigames hosted during those weekends each year.
August 2015 – 1st Year Member & Leadership Appreciation Ceremony, following the completion of our Workshop, Airships, and very first Company Tabard, Escutcheon, and Hat, a ceremony was held symbolizing the mutual respect, loyalty, and protection shared between leadership and members. - August 2016 – The inaugural Azure Summer Festival, introducing traditions and event programming that continue today while also raising thousands of dollars for charity.
- June-July 2017 – The launch of the Azure Discord Server and Stormblood era, marking explosive growth and helping establish Azure as one of Midgardsormr's premier communities.
- July-August 2019 – The Sundering / Resurgens Caeruleum Project Start, a challenging period of organizational growth that ultimately inspired one of Azure's greatest transformations.
- August 2021 – The Completion of Resurgens Caeruleum, a comprehensive modernization effort that revitalized every major aspect of Azure's infrastructure and operations.
- August 2022 – A Season of Resilience, when the community united during one of the most difficult periods in Azure's history, supporting one another through personal hardships while emerging stronger together.
- August 2024 – The Completion of the Ascension Project, bringing renewed organization, leadership, recruitment, content creation, and long-term planning for Azure's future.
Each of these moments and milestones reflects the same values that have guided Azure since its beginning: resilience, loyalty, respect, family, and our shared love for the community we've built together.
Celebration of the Azure Sky is more than simply remembering our past, it's a celebration day of the people who made that history possible and a reminder that the greatest chapters of Azure are still ahead of us.
