The action-fantasy anime Chained Soldier has officially confirmed that its second season will premiere in January 2026, building strong anticipation among fans of the show.
Produced by studios Passione and Hayabusa Film, this sequel marks a shift away from the first season’s studio, bringing a refreshed team to helm the project.
Director Masafumi Tamura takes the reins this time around, with character designs by Keiya Nakano and composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi- all of which signals a potentially distinct visual and narrative tone from Season 1.
The reveal also dropped a key visual featuring the new character Ren Yamashiro, Chief of the Anti-Demon Corps’ 10th Unit, offering a fresh focal point for the upcoming storyline.
Back in 2024, the first season of Chained Soldier adapted the popular manga by Takahiro and Yohei Takemura, establishing its dark world of interdimensional gates and superpowered women. It is quite good if you haven't checked it out yet. ^^
That continuity gives Season 2 a solid base, and the new team promises to ramp up stakes, visuals, and thematic intensity.
With Season 2 aiming for a January 2026 launch, viewers can prepare for deeper dives into key characters and new threats. The new visual hints at Ren Yamashiro playing a prominent role- potentially shifting dynamics in the story’s power structure. The change in studio and staff suggests the sequel may present a fresh aesthetic or pacing that distinguishes it from the inaugural run. Pretty exciting!
I believe this revival is significant because it comes at a time when anime sequels are under scrutiny for maintaining or improving quality. A strong second season, particularly with the refreshed creative team, could elevate Chained Soldier’s standing and expand its audience internationally.
Fans who enjoyed the first season- and those curious about the manga source- have reason to be excited. With behind-the-scenes talent and schedule now clarified, the countdown to January 2026 is officially on!
